The Papyrus was once abundant in the Nile, Egypt and used by the Egyptians to make paper as far back as 3,000 BC. This wetland sedge can grow 2-3 meter tall and can form dense populations lining water bodies.

The Papyrus grows bright green, smooth, rounded culms (flowering stems) that extends 2-3 meter and tops it with a dense, feathery cluster of stalks. Bunches of Papyrus form a cloud-like crown while a small cluster of Papyrus breaks out of the outline of the landscape with its unique structure.

Red-brown, papery scales (actually leaves) form at the base and top of the culms, below the cluster of stalks. These leaves have beautiful gradients of red-brown color to yellow and smelts into the bright green color of the culms.

An architectural must for every water feature.
